ONE TO ONE TUITION

Private lessons are a fantastic way to get your child a real head-start in learning to swim. One to one tuition involves a teacher giving a student intensive individual support. These lessons are our most popular choice and last 20 minutes long. As pupils grow and their ability increases, teachers will work with the child to correct and perfect swimming technique - progress is often astounding!

ADULT AND CHILD CLASSES

These classes are aimed at giving your child their first experience of the water, along with your guidance. Through songs, fun and games we aim to promote water confidence, water safety alongside offering a social environment for both adults and children. Once children turn 3, they start independent movement in the water, and they are comfortable with a teacher, they will move into the Ducklings class.

DUCKLINGS CLASS

Aimed at pre-school children from age 3 years and above. In these fun beginner classes, children wear armband discs as they build their water confidence and improve their ability to propel themselves in the water. Parents spectate from the side as their child works towards achieving the Duckling awards.

STAGE 1 CLASS

If your child is 5 and over, and is nervous in the water, then this is the class we would suggest for them. It will teach confidence and independence in the water and, once completed, your child will be awarded the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework (LTSF) Stage One award.

STAGE 2 CLASS

This stage is for children who are confident in the water but have had little swim lesson experience. It will help develop water confidence and teach children to be able to swim five metres on both their front and their back. Once they’ve completed this stage, they’ll receive the LTSF Stage 2 Award, as well as the 5m badge and Water Skills 1.

STAGE 3 CLASS

If your child can swim five metres on their front and back unaided, then they’ll need to enrol in our Stage 3 lessons. Here, they’ll be taught towards the end goal of being able to swim unaided for 10m on both their front and back. They’ll be supported on this journey by developing aquatic breathing and different types of aquatic mobility. By completing this stage, your child will have attained LTSF Stage 3 accreditation, as well as their 10m award, and Water Skills 2.

STAGE 4 CLASS

For slightly more advanced children, stage four teaches your child some of the basic swimming techniques, including treading water and swimming underwater. Your child will be working towards being able to swim 25m unaided on their front and back. Once they’ve completed this stage, your child will get a 25m badge as well as the LTSF Stage 4 award and Water Skills 3 and 4.

STAGE 5 CLASS

During Swim England Learn to Swim Stage 5, swimmers will develop their skills in treading water, learn the correct arm pulls for all four strokes and learn how to do handstands and somersaults. This stage will begin to develop your child’s stroke technique to a higher standard, making them even more confident in the water. Children will be awared LTSF Stage 5, as well as Water Skills 5 and 100m badges.
